About twelve years ago, someone happened to introduce two women to each other. Katya sang and played acoustic guitar, while MJ performed with a classic rock band. They ended up living in adjacent zip codes until Katya and her husband moved ten million miles away (you know, West Seattle!), began a family, and dropped off the face of MJ’s earth. A little extreme, maybe, but busy lives, different social schedules, kids and the like made that ten million mile gap tough to close for a long time . . .

Four children, many musical endeavors and a few home remodels later, a MOST auspicious evening last September brought these two together again, this time for a musical performance by MJ (in West Seattle!), where they began talking about musical possibilities and collaboration. They’ve come together to form an acoustic duo, playing MJ’s originals and cover tunes chosen by Katya. Both sing and play acoustic guitars, with Katya adding bongos and shakers and MJ tossing in some mandolin.

MJ and Katya are experiencing their SECOND WIND. Ten million miles (and the West Seattle Bridge) can’t keep them apart now. . . .
