GO AND GET IT
luck isn’t served up on a
silver platter
with a sprig of money on the side
your silver spoon could end up tarnished and black
and you look to your doggy bag to survive
you can sit on your hands, cry big tears
mope around and sing your woes
or you can spit on your shoes and put on a new face
and have that look that says
there’s something you know
if you want it, go and get it
use your two legs for what they were meant to do
it ain’t gonna come looking for you
fair damsels are a storybook past
like old time videos
the classic films may stutter and burp
but they tell you everything you gotta know
forget the white horse, forget the gown
save your face from the floor
like a dog with no opposable thumbs
figure out just how to open that door
